We promise to always appreciate the woman that you are. We promise to never make you feel like you need hide your body. We promise to give you a safe space where you can be yourself without judgment or criticism. We will never make you feel less than the strong and deserving woman that you are.
As women we are constantly being conditioned to cover up or be ashamed of how our body looks if we don’t fit into a certain mold right? It has ALWAYS been my stance that I will NEVER EVER feed into that bullshit rhetoric of hiding your body. I will never ever perpetuate the message that you need to hide or change or get airbrushed if; your stomach is hanging or your boobs are not as perky as they used to be, or your butt isn’t as toned, or if you have stretch marks or cellulite.
We are so conditioned into thinking we need to be ashamed of our bodies, that when others tell us all the things they can do to change our bodies in photography, we assume that it’s ok/normal. We assume that this is how it’s supposed to be. It’s not how it’s supposed to be….you deserve to be treated better.
All of our clients regardless of what they look like are posed just about the same with the exception of their comfort levels. I tell you, I will not completely cover you throughout the session. That there is no way to omit a body part from your session. I will use blankets on occasion with posing, but that is used as a “prop” of sorts and everyone receives some form of that in their gallery.
We are the artists for you if you want finally start celebrating your body as it is meant to be celebrated! I AM the photographer for you if you want to be around strong women who truly empower others and DO NOT support the idea of needing to change your body. In the end, you know what you look like, your partner knows what you look like. Why not celebrate and learn to accept your body how it is and allow someone to capture you in the most professional and flattering way possible. There’s a difference between photographers who want to be a boudoir photographer to look “cool, or trendy” and there is a difference between an artist who just wants to capture a women’s body as she is at this time in her life.
The choice is yours, I hope you choose a photographer that accepts you and who doesn’t shame you.
